Remodel: Oregon Coast

Neskowin, Oregon 2022

This mid-century beach house has been in the same family for three generations. Built in the 1950's, and used only as a summer retreat, the home had been largely untouched for decades. The elegant low-sloping roof, exterior walls and original woodwork was preserved or repurposed, but the rest of the interior was taken down to the studs and reconfigured. The exterior was transformed, as well, with all new cladding, fenestration redesign and all the necessary general updates to modernize the home without sacrificing the compelling mid-century envelope.
